Please accept my application to join your writing 110 course. I am really interested in joining this class, as I feel it may give me more confidence in my writing skills. I do not write as often as I should but with help from this course I feel it will give me more ideas and experience that will help me further in life. I will work hard to earn this spot in your course.
I do not usually write on my spare time, but I do read a lot and enjoy it, other things I do on my spare time is listen to music, and spend time with my friends. Some of my favourite authors are Sara Shepard and John Green, they write teen-fiction novels. A type of writing that comes easy to me is fictional stories, I enjoy writing this type because I feel I can be more creative in what I write about. A type of writing I find challenging is persuasive.
I find my writing ideas from things I have read in the past, or from tv shows/movies. In grade 4, I was extremely proud of my first writing piece, it was about turtles. I was so taken up with the story I even brought a prompt in, which was my turtle webkinz. To this day I am still proud of the work involved in the story, I was very proud to receive the high mark that I got, that I never forgot about it.
I usually write 1 to 2 draft copies depending on when the essay has to be completed by. I feel I am a strong writer once I get my writing structure planned out, some weaknesses I have as a writer are that I lose confidence in what i'm writing about sometimes.
My goal as a writer and expectation of the course is to learn to be more confident and learn more skills in writing to further my education. I do believe this class will benefit me for my future plans in life.
