Writing the News Articles

Rock out with your socks out: 5SOS Edition
Fans of 5 Seconds of Summer were ecstatic here in Toronto last night after seeing the boys perform live at their sold out show! 5SOS released their second platinum selling album “Sounds Good Feels Good” fall of last year and fans still can't get enough of the Australian heartthrobs. The Toronto streets were packed surprisingly with people of all ages waiting to get in to see the boys. Here's a quote from our interview with the Aussies before their show that Micheal Clifford had stated, “We love coming back to Toronto; it's such blast every time we're here! The fans are always in good spirit and are ready to rock out with us, its awesome!”
We were so thrilled to hear that! The boys started off playing their newest single “Girls Talk Boys” and ended the night with a classic favourite “She looks so perfect”. Unfortunately, before the show happened the streets were so crowded with raging fans police were called upon the scene to make sure everyone walking got through safely and the traffic could get by the pedestrians. Luckily no one got hurt and the fans rocked the night away.
“That was the best concert I've ever been to!” Cried an excited fan after the show, “Luke, Calum, Michael, and Ashton put on one of their best shows yet on tour! I definitely recommend going to see them live as they are truly beyond amazing performers and know how to entertain a crowd!”
With all this excitement we can't wait for the boys to hopefully return again next year with another mind blowing concert!

Starting with the Basis

At the beginning of October, Kim Kardashian West was spending some vacation time in her Paris apartment when she was faced with a vicious robbery, threatening her life. Stolen from her was millions of dollars worth of jewelry, including her $5 million ring. The robbers broke in and tied Kim up, holding her hostage at gunpoint.
The lead is effective because it's an update on the armed robbery of Kim Kardashian west. It makes people want to read about the new updated alert.
This is a quote found in the article by Jean Veil, her Paris-based lawyer.
"She is very calm and very determined over a matter that was particularly violent. If she is summoned to France, she will come to France, but judges also have the possibility of moving [to the United States]."
The  most important information told first was recapping what was shared in the first news article on the topic. This new update tells us what was stolen and how Kim is doing since the scary robbery.
The story had a good ending. It gave us all the new updated information but was suspenseful, to have the reader wanting more.

Children's story

Anna’s Story
There once was a girl named Anna, she was the most hardworking girl at her school, her marks were higher than the others. She was the best, but nobody wanted to be her friend. They didn't want to play with her and made fun of her.
One day, her teacher gave the class a test and a boy called Christian signed his test using Anna’s name, and took hers to cheat. When the teacher returned all the tests, everybody was shocked that Anna did not pass the test, but the other kids were happy of this.
The next day, after Anna arrived at school all the kids wanted to be with her and invited her to play with them. Suddenly, when Anna was playing with the other children, the teacher came over to her and told her that there had been a mistake, and Anna did not fail the test.  The teacher told the kids what had happened with Christian and afterwards the children stopped playing with Anna again knowing she passed.
A few weeks later a lady went to visit the school, to do a presentation for the children. During her visit she saw that Anna was crying and so she asked her “What is your name?”
“Anna” she replied
The lady then asked her why was she crying, Anna explained what had happened. She told her how the other kids didn’t like her just because she always got good grades. The Lady then told the children stories about her childhood that were similar to Anna’s.
After her speech all the children realized that they had been rude to Anna, and felt sorry. They should have been happy to have a friend that got such good marks and made such a big effort at school.
They decided to follow Anna’s example of wanting good grades and after that they always played together without ignoring her or anyone else.
From then on everyone was very happy and learned the lesson of respecting others.

Children Story Reviews

Ollie’s Jar

This children's story is about an eel named Ollie, it describes what Ollie likes to do around his home. I do not see an importance to this children's story, it is very boring and does not have an educational purpose. The story is seven short pages long with no more than 10 words per page, and over all is not worth the read.

The Brave Monkey Pirate
This story tells the tale of a little monkey who goes shopping with his mom then has to go to a surprise visit at the doctors office. The little monkey is of course scared but he finds a way to get through it without a problem. The story is 23 pages and I think has a good story line. I recommend this children's book.

The Zoo Animals
This children's story is a cute one that describes zoo animals simply but effectively for a young reader. It describes each animal, by what they look like, what they do, and the noises they make (if any). I recommend this one to any child that's interested in animals.

How to run a Successful Twitter Fan Account

How to run a Successful Twitter fan Account

In this article I will be giving my tips and tricks on how to run and maintain a successful twitter fan account. These steps will help for whatever fandom you are in. Running a fan account can be fun and easy if you know what to do; that's why I'm here to help! There are 4 main steps to achieving this:

First Step: The Account
  • Make a username thats original and relatable to the fandom you are in.
  • Follow “mutuals”: people with the same interests or in the same fandom as you. I recommend to follow a bunch of people to start off your account.
  • Its also beneficial to follow people who aren't very popular and who follow a lot of people back, so you have a better chance of them following you in return.
  • Matching layout is very important as well.
Second Step: Tweeting
  • Be creative with your tweets, use interesting hashtags.
  • Also tweet pictures (it makes things more fun).
  • Join in tweeting things that are “trending”, or popular hashtags that people in your fandom are talking about.
  • Don’t retweet too many things, that makes your account look unoriginal and unappealing. Keep your retweets similar to what you're account is about, don't retweet something completely different.
  • Don't always tweet negative or mean things, of course you can say your opinion/feelings on things, but tweeting too many negative things is as turn off and will annoy your followers and probably end up with you losing followers.
Third Step: Spam
  • Spam can be good or bad, depends how you are spamming. Some people go overboard and constantly tweet out spam to people. Those people tend to get annoying and you will lose followers.
  • Good spam that normally gets your idols attention to follow/tweet you normally consists of jokes, emoticons, and pictures/drawings.
  • Don't constantly tweet your spam, its better to leave some time in between, so it doesn't show up on your followers timeline all at once, which is very annoying.
Fourth Step: Internet Friends
  • Reply to peoples tweets
  • Reply/retweet “indirects”, which are when a person gives you their opinion on you and your account. This can help if they suggest that you seem cool, or you should direct message/become friends with them.
  • Do the basic thing and tweet “Anyone wanna become friends?’ and pray that someone actually does.
  • Pretend you’re super cool and interesting and try to intrigue people to wonder more about you.
  • Its easier to become friends with people who have around the same followers as you.

I'm not skilled with every single step, but those are what I've learned from other people and myself. I hope this article helped you out!! Good luck!!

Article Review: How to Get a 5SOS Band Member to Follow you on Twitter

I chose the Article The Official Guidebook on how to get 5 Seconds of Summer band members to follow you on Twitter, because I struggle everyday to try to get one of the members to follow me, so it relates to my everyday life. The article was done very well and is highly accurate. I thought all the steps were very helpful, and effective. In the article it explained reasoning behind the authors suggestions well, and also added other helpful tips, ex: the different time zones. It was divided up giving tips that normally will get each band member's attention and it included tips for the band account as well. It was short and got to the point of everything that was useful but also gave a quick explanation behind everything. I've seen on twitter in the past that a lot of these steps actually helped people get one of the band members follow. I definitely recommend that if you're looking for a follow from a 5SOS band member, to read this how to article. I'm very excited to try these steps out and hopefully you will hear in the close upcoming future that I managed to get one of the boys follow!
